Graf's is a unique pastry shop in a tucked away strip mall in Farmington Hills. It is a German "konditorei" or patisserie that specializes in fresh and seasonal sweet baked goods. They are even familiar with the less common Austrian style treats my family adores. When I asked about ordering a plum dadji baked good, the lady told me that I would have to wait until August for the European style plums to come into season, but that I might like a currant or rhubarb tart that contained fruit right out of the owner's garden. Needless to say, I was intrigued and brought home both tangy tarts for my family to enjoy. I have also tried their raspberry and peach cakes, as well as their lovely fruit tarts. All had excellent flavor and freshness, but my only complaint is that the refrigerated case must have been too cold when I bought them because the raspberry cake was frozen solid! Prices are fair, the goods are authentic and everything is fresh and yummy. I will definitely rely on Graf's for future Father's Day and birthday treats for my dad who has a special affinity for Austrian food and sweets.

I found out about this place when I tried a dessert (Biehnenstich?) at a German picnic I went to. Found out this place wasn't too far from me, so my wife and I stopped in on our way home from work. We ordered two things -- a cookie and a little pastry dessert for our little daughter. Cookie was stale, and pastry cake was getting firm on the outside, so also several days old. I was rather disappointed in their selection and quality, especially when expecting so much after the dessert I had tried previously to coming here. On top of this, they say they don't make that Biehnenstich unless you call in a special order. The store just felt like a run-down place that was trying to keep pace even though it's been dying for the past 10-20 years. Would I eat their Biehnenstich again? Of course. Would I come back here to try something else? No.

I would give Graf Pastry 100 stars if I can !! These guys are simply fabulous and I have tried all their flavors. I have been going to the Graf Pastry for the last 5 years and I absolutely love this place. Their forte - the sweet content in each of their pastry type, in cookies and in their cake is so accurate that it is neither too sweet nor too bland. My favourite is the Peach pastry which I guess is seasonal. I have always ordered birthday cakes and other occasion cakes from here and have had guests raving about it. My favourite is the Strawberry cake and even the Rum cake is outstanding. I highly recommend Graf Pastry to all the sweet lovers, and if you are not a sweet lover, have a trip to Graf Pastry and you will become one.

Friendly, Helpful and Delicious. I was the late guy on Fat Tuesday, stopping in during the lunch hour to get a few Paczkis and order a cake. Of course the person in front of me ordered 3 dozen and took all of the fillings I wanted. Only the prune and apricot were left. Sigh. After ordering the cake, the lady who helped me out confided that she had two empty Paczki shells in the back and could fill them with anything I wanted. I left with two raspberry. Mmmm. Best paczkis I have ever had. I will definitely be back. There are so many delicious looking foods in the display cases. It's hard to limit oneself. I'll have a update on the cake in a few days.

Needed a last minute birthday cake, Graf's Pastry was my first stop and i was not disappointed!! Come to find out they have making lovely yummy pastries for 37 yrs. I purchased a small yellow cake w strawberry filling. They happily changed the flower to be a more suitable color for a man and quickly put a bday message on the cake. The cake and bite size cookies were fabulous, fresh, and reasonably priced. I will continue to visit their location in Farmington Hills.

This place is simply amazing! We have tried the majority of their cakes, and you can't go wrong with any of them. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. This is a must try even if you are outside the normal commuting area.

I'm not sure what to say other than they have the best cakes ever here!!! My mom's favorite is their strawberry cake so we almost always order that. But everything there is just unbelievably fantastic!

My family has been going to Graf's for years. Each time my family hosts a shower we always get a cake from here, vanilla with raspberry filling and its heaven. We ordered our wedding cake from Graf's and everyone raved about it. Their cake is just so moist and yummy it's hard to find fault with it. We had a vanilla raspberry and a chocolate/chocolate mousse.

don't know why its taken me so long to finally stop here. noticed it a decade ago. but was in the area to visit family and decided i needed a new adventure into local bakeries. not a lot of variety but the assorted cookies caught my eye. got a half pound mixed. and wow, the best bakery cookies ever. way better than any italian bakery assorted. they were extremely fresh, not sitting around like most in the metro area. the raspberry jam filled butter was the best. danish good and fresh but will definitely return for the cookies.

From christenings to first communions, birthdays and graduations, Graf's has consistently been amazing with their torte cakes for my family. The cakes are always the talk of the party, and rarely is there any cake left, no matter what size I get!! I can't say enough good about the service and the product. I look forward to many more celebrations with a Graf's cake!!!

Graf's is such a gem. This the kind of place that you should definitely go out of your way to stop at if you're even remotely near Farmington hills. It's a German family bakery, located in a strip mall across from Harrison High school. They have an assortment of cakes and tarts but I think their specialty is the cookies. If you like nuts, the Florentine cookies are heavenly... melt-in-your-mouth amazing.... Fruit tarts are also great and they have the same cookie crust. Not cheap, but a worthy indulgence and you'll likely see the owner himself busy in the kitchen.
